KLE’S DR.Prabhakar Kore Hospital Belagavi performed the Second Successful Liver Transplantation in North Karnataka immediately following the first one done a month earlier. Dr. Santosh Hajare, Chief Gastroenterologist stated that the patient has been discharged a few days ago and is doing well.
This time the liver was donated by the family of patient Mr. Narshing Patil aged 50 years from Kuppatagiri, Khanapur who had met with a road traffic accident on 1st December and was declared brain dead by doctors at KLE’S Hospital.
It was transplanted to a patient from Hubli who was having advanced liver failure and was registered for transplantation at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital. With these back-to-back surgeries, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital is fast establishing itself as a Liver Transplant Centre in North Karnataka, Goa and South Maharashtra.
