Owing to the great demand for dialysis in the city, the Rotary Club of Belgaum with support of The Rotary Foundation and Rotary Club of Charlotte South USA commissioned the Rotary KLE Dialysis Centre II project worth 43,000 USD under Global Grant No GG 2126830 which is an addition to the existing project of dialysis machines of worth 35,000 USD.
The Dialysis Centre was inaugurated on 14th July at KLE Centenary Charitable Hospital at yellur, Belagavi. This grant is supported by 4 Dialysis Machines out of which one machine is High end suitable for critical care. Now, altogether they have 7 machines at Rotary KLE dialysis centre.
The chief guest for the function was Dr. Prabhakar Kore who inaugurated the dialysis center. Guest of Honor were PDG Rtn. Sangram Patil, Dr. Dharwad and Dr. Rajshekar . Rotary Dist governor nominee Rtn. Sharad Pai, President Rtn. Basavaraj Vibhuti, Secretary Rtn. Akshay Kulkarni and Past President Rtn. Dr. Keluskar were present on the dias.
The donor for this project were felicitated at the hands of Dr. Prabhakar Kore which included Rtn. Parag Bhandare, Rtn. Anish Metrani, Rtn. Sunish Metrani, Rtn. Basavaraj Vibhuti, PP.Rtn. Sanjay Kulkarni, Rtn. Dr. Bhandankar and Rtn. Niranjan Sant. The dignitaries also felicitated Dr. Vijay kumar Patil, nephrologist and his staff who takes care of the dialysis centre.
Dr. Prabhakar Kore expressed his gratitude towards Rotary and assured that KLE will be there to support Rotary Club of Belgaum in future healthcare projects by the Rotary foundation. PP.Rtn.Sanjay Kulkarni is the primary contact for this project. The inauguration was attended by Rotarians, KLE management, doctors and students.
The Rotary KLE dialysis centre offers dialysis at a nominal cost to the beneficiaries and has till date performed sizable dialysis and has served as a boon to the patients of renal disorder in and around Belagavi. Rtn Akshay Kulkarni Presented the vote of Thanks and PP. Rtn. Dr. Mukund Udchankar smoothly handled the function as master of ceremony.
