HEADACHE

All of us experience ‘HEADACHE’ many times in our life. No one is spared from Headache. Usually, Headache occurs due to stress, strain, excess fatigue, continuous exposure to sunrays, fever of any origin, flu, visual errors., etc. Individuals with high blood pressure, Diabetes, migraine, brain tumor also face headaches.

MIGRAINE:

A migraine is a primary headache disorder. It has recurrent headaches that are moderate to severe. Typically, the headaches affect one half of the head, are pulsating in nature, and last from 2 to 72 hours. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.

TENSION HEADACHE

Tension headaches occur when neck and scalp muscles become tense, or contract. The muscle contractions can be a response to stress, depression, head injury, or anxiety. They may occur at any age, but are most common in adults and older teens. Relaxation & Meditation can reduce this type of Headache.

BRAIN FEVER

Brain fever describes a medical condition where a part of the brain becomes inflamed and causes symptoms that present as fever. Symptoms usually include: fever, Severe headache. Poor appetite, problems with speech and hearing.

BRAIN TUMOR

  • Persistent room spinning, dizziness, or loss of balance.
  • A seizure or loss of ability to speak
  • Hearing problems
  • Gradually worsening weakness or loss of sensation in an arm or leg
  • Personality changes such as emotional withdrawal or anger, or becoming easily confused

Is CT/ MRI Compulsory for Headache:

All the patients with Headache may not need CT/MRI Scan. However, patients with warning signs definitely need Scans.

ALERT; WHEN TO WORRY

  1. Worst ever headache
  2. Sudden experience of headache
  3. Increase in episodes of Headache
  4. Headache with omitting, giddiness, loss of balance while walking
  5. No response to medication/medical intervention.

Never neglect a Headache. If it appears persistently individuals should consult Doctors and abide by Doctors advice.
