Struggle to Strength: Cancer Survivors Observe; World Cancer Day at KLE Cancer Hospital

The World Cancer Day celebration at KLE Dr. Sampatkumar Shivanagi Hospital witnessed an emotionally charged event filled with hope, aspirations, and heartfelt gratitude. Tears of joy and resilience flowed as cancer survivors, who bravely fought their battles, shared their journeys. It was a touching expression of thanks to the doctors, nurses, and medical staff whose compassionate care and staunch support made their resolve strong to fight against cancer & recovery was possible.

Survivors of all ages, from young children to elderly individuals, took the stage one after another, narrating how the KLES Cancer team helped them find hope in the most hopeless situations. Many recalled the moment of their diagnosis when despair took hold, only to be uplifted by the hospital’s gentle approach, cutting-edge diagnostic facilities, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and the expertise of its medical professionals. The patient-friendly ambiance and dedicated care resulted in remarkable treatment outcomes, with many emerging victorious in their battle against cancer.

One survivor boldly addressed the gathering, stating, “Cancer does not mean death.” He urged others to seek early medical attention, trust their doctors, and maintain a positive attitude, emphasizing that with hope and timely intervention, cancer can be defeated.

The event also saw a special moment of gratitude by patients & their attendants towards Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chairman of KLE Society for establishing world class cancer care facilities at Belagavi. Cancer survivors expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the team of dedicated doctors, who provided firm support during the most critical times. The survivors expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the hospital’s commitment to patient care and the human touch that made a significant difference in their recovery journey.

Marking the occasion, Dr. Nitin Gangane, Vice-Chancellor of KLE University, lit the lamp and stressed the urgent need for cancer awareness. He highlighted the harmful impact of tobacco products, alcohol consumption, and excessive stress, family history of cancer & obesity factors could trigger cancer. Dr. Gangane encouraged patients to maintain faith, lead active lives, and make full use of the world-class facilities available at the hospital.

The event was graced by esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. M. V. Jali, Medical Director; Dr. N. S. Mahantshetty, Principal, J. N. Medical College; Dr. H. B.
