Road Safety Program -1: With view to create awareness of Road Safety among the masses, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) conducted program on 13th Jan, 2023 at KSRTC Depot. P V Sneha – DCP Crime and Traffic, Belagavi, Chief Guest of the function highlighted on prevention of accidents. She said by adopting simple safety measures like use of seat belt while driving four wheelers, use of helmet for two wheeler riders, not over speeding, following road traffic rules, do not use mobile while driving these simple measures could avert lot of accidents. She also cautioned many young productive lives are lost due to drunken rash driving. Shivananad Magudum RTO Officer, PY Nayak Divisional Controller, spoke about importance of road safety. Dr.Devagouda Orthopaedic Surgeon and MD Shree Ortho and Trauma Centre, presented talk on Prevention of Road Accidents, Identification of victims into Minor and Serious injuries. When accident occurs he explained in detail the First Aid measures to be taken at accident site and emergency management of victims. He also demonstrated how to mobilize the victims to safe place/hospitals.
Road Safety Program -2: In effort to reduce road traffic accidents, as a part of National Road Safety Week (January 11th to 17th Jan) was organized at Shree Ortho & Trauma Centre, Belagavi. The week aims to spread awareness on road safety.
It is a disturbing fact that, Close to 5 lakh accidents takes place in India & over 1, 50,000 young & productive age group people die annually owing to road traffic accidents. With view to spread awareness on Road Safety, Shree Ortho and Trauma Centre in association with Rotary Club Belagavi South and Indian Medical Association Belgaum conducted a program on 17th Jan, 2023 at Shree Ortho and Trauma Center Belagavi.
“Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’ considering this theme of the year Dr.Devagouda Orthopedic Surgeon and MD Shree Ortho and Trauma Centre, presented talk on Prevention of Road Accidents, First Aid and Emergency management of accident victims till help arrives. Dr Ramesh Ramgurwadi President of Rotary Club Belagavi South spoke about adhering to Road Safety rules in students and he is committed to conduct safety training to all Rotaract students.

In the beginning of program, National Road Safety Week was inaugurated by Chief Guest Rotarian Ramesh Ramgurwadi President of Rotary Club Belagavi South & Dr Swapna Mahajan President IMA Belagavi. Dr Hemant Kaujalgi Secretary IMA Belagavi, Rotarian Dr Govind Misale Secretary, Rotarian Satish Kulkarni, Rotarian Keerti Suranjan were present in the program.
