Journey of 45 years of medical teaching experience unveiled in Visakhapatnam Conference
Renowned medical educator Prof. Dr. Ashok Godhi, former Dean of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, captivated delegates at the National Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) at Visakhapatnam. Delivering a thought-provoking lecture titled “Teaching Medical Students: 45 Years of Honest Introspection,” Dr. Godhi offered a heartfelt and insightful look at over four decades of teaching journey in medical institutions.
Dr. Godhi emphasized the critical role of medical educators, calling them sculptors of responsible professionals who dedicate themselves to alleviating suffering. He expressed his immense pleasure in witnessing his students grown up into extremely passionate medical professionals who have made a mark in their chosen field of medicine. He highlighted the increasing reliance on multimedia tools, quicker investigation-based diagnostics, and the game-changing potential of AI-powered simulations in surgical training.

He urged his colleagues to embrace technological advancements like virtual and augmented reality, calling them the future of surgical education.
