Dr. Sampat Shivanagi coming from a humble background did his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He later joined Karnataka Medical College in Hubli, where he received his M.D and D.G.O post-graduate degrees in Medicine. He migrated to the USA in 1976.
