KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research (KAHER), Belagavi has taken a major leap by establishing an Innovation and Incubation Center to promote healthcare technology start-ups and enhance healthcare services, medical technology, and healthcare infrastructure, said Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Chancellor of KAHER. In his interaction with members of media at KAHER, he said the center will provide expert guidance, support, and financial assistance, facilitate the creation of a conducive ecosystem for start-ups, and focus on creating new medical tech products and services, fostering entrepreneurship, generating employment opportunities, and stimulating economic growth. Dr. Kore said most of the medical gadgets, instruments, and high end equipment are imported either from China or western countries.
Dr. Kore stressed, this is the time to support our own young minds, to enter into the realms of research and innovation. This initiative aligns with KLE’s commitment to improving the lives of patients and healthcare professionals through innovative products and services. Dr. Kore expressed his confidence, the research & innovation initiatives will contribute to the economic transformation in this part of Karnataka.
During a conversation with journalists at Dr. Nitin Gangane, Vice Chancellor of KAHER highlighted that this initiative will achieve a goal of attracting local talent & harnessing their skills & developing them as entrepreneurs. The Vice Chancellor underscored the importance of nurturing talent, strengthening it, and providing support to start-ups in various aspects, including commercialization, research, and networking.
