The Doctors coming under the Department of Medical Education may be banned from doing private practice hinted Dr. Sudhakar, Medical Education & Health Minister of Govt. of Karnataka. Dr K Sudhakar stressed the government is contemplating completely banning private practice by doctors coming under the department of medical education. “This is to increase their efficiency and help out poor patients waiting for their expert advice”
The deans of medical colleges have brought the incidences of late arrival of doctors for duty and their poor attendance to OPD & Rounds, in spite of bio-matrix functioning, said Dr. Sudhakar. To enforce discipline, the Minister said the Govt may consider geotagging for doctors.
He urged the doctors to uphold the ethics of noble profession and serve the needy & sick patients.
