HUMANITY AT ITS BEST-Marwari Youth turn food angles to covid affected families

COVID 2nd wave has created anxiety, stress and uncertainty in the country. Various NGOs in their own way extending helping hands to the needy. While everything seems gloomy, covid inflicted families experiencing hardships. Belgaum based ‘Marwari Yuva Manch’ members have a novel idea to help the families in distress. They are reaching out to covid affected families and serving healthy, hygienically prepared & nutritious food at a bare minimum cost of Rs.50/- per meal. They are spreading kindness and building hope amidst hopeless situation.

A small but socially committed approximately 50 ‘Marwari’ families live in Belgaum. But their commitment and determination to serve the community is very strong and self-driven. Group of ‘Marwari’ youth are well aware that covid inflicted families find it extremely difficult to order a food from Hotels/Restaurants as it is expensive. Even one of the family members (of covid infected) ventures out of home for procuring food may infect others. In view of the above these youth have charted out a noble idea of serving food at the door steps of the covid infected families at a bare minimum rate of Rs.50/- per meal but, the actual cost of the food works out to be Rs. 120-150/-.

Speaking to myarogya.in team Mr. Sanjay Vyas said that, we all should be united in this hour of crisis and come to the help of fellow human beings & do whatever best to mitigate the sufferings of the people. Sanjay added we are charging bare minimum because it should not be burden to the families. Special care is taken to prepare food in hygienic conditions. Dal, Vegetable, Roti, Rice with pickle/curd is being served. The quality, taste and quantity of the food is appreciated by all families. Over 100 meals are being served in a day. The demand for more meals is increasing.

Mr Sanjay said it is a team effort we are all trying to do whatever bit we can plough back to the community. For extremely poor families we can serve the food free of cost. The ‘Marwari’ youth are contributing for the expenses. He asked Belgaum citizens to come forward and donate generously so as to reach out to more families. Food is prepared, packed and served at the door steps of the needy.

It may be recalled that, ‘Marwari’ youth organisation is actively involved in donating callipers to the physically challenged, Organising health & blood donation camps. Also donating cloths, food, books when flash flood hit Belgaum couple of years ago.
